Powered by Crystals

You are happy to use your cell phone, computer, and TV every single moment of the day. You literally could not live without them. But you look at a crystal girlie like me and roll your eyes when I come through with my beads and boulders. You don’t get how my rock collection is doing any healing for me. But you just don’t understand the macrocosm and microcosm of our world that could truly not function without crystals. Crystals are not mystical because we believe in them. Crystals are legends in the scientific world because of their God-given properties and functions. They don’t call it the mineral kingdom for nothing. Crystals and minerals rule our world and keep us alive.

Quartz comes from pure silica mixed with oxygen. Silica is the second most abundant material in the Earth’s crust after oxygen, and silica-based minerals dominate our planet. This is one of my all-time favorite facts. Silica is everywhere. I mean… how big is the Earth? Silica is sand. Silica raises mountains.

So when we talk about silica—or its child, the crystal quartz—we are not talking about something rare. We are talking about something foundational to our world.

Silica is not only the ground you walk upon… it is also the backbone of the modern technology you so gladly devour and worship. Without quartz, I would not be using this computer right now. From glass to granite to microchips and semiconductors, silica has paved all the roads to Silicon Valley and modern life as we know it. Scientists say that zircon, the oldest known crystal, is 4.4 billion years old. So crystals have been here since the beginning of time… and are still at the forefront of technological evolution.

That doesn’t fascinate you?

It does me.

Nature birthed crystals, and humans have learned how to replicate that process.

When you apply pressure to certain crystals, they generate electricity. So the idea that crystals “hold energy” is not spiritual mumbo jumbo. Crystals also respond to temperature changes. They don’t sit immune to the world—they respond to it.

Crystals manipulate light. They are used in lasers, LCD screens, and fiber optics.

They don’t just hold energy—they shape how energy moves in things like MRI machines and ultrasounds. Silica-based crystals store information. Every text message, photo, and memory in your phone is stored in a crystalline structure. Every semiconductor and memory chip in existence depends on this.

One of my favorite ways to experience crystal healing is through musical instruments. Crystal singing bowls allow us to hear silica's most beautiful tones. When a crystal bowl is played near another of the same note, the second will start to vibrate and sing in resonance, showing how quartz matches frequency. I like to think that when I play a crystal bowl, it’s not just making a random sound; it’s sending out a frequency that my body can respond to. This may not be the bowl healing me but giving my system a stable frequency to organize around. Crystal sound healing also helps you shift between brain wave states. You drop from Beta (thinking, planning, awake and active) into the state between sleeping and waking called alpha (relaxed awareness) and then into deep theta (meditative, subconscious access). This is why during the sound bath you feel like you’re floating or in between worlds, because your brain is literally changing frequency states.

When you apply electricity to quartz, it vibrates at a very specific, consistent frequency. This is called piezoelectricity. This vibration is repeatable, stable, and predictable. Quartz converts electricity into vibration, and vibration back into electricity. HUH? Inside an ultrasound machine, crystals receive electricity and send vibrations through your body. The returning echoes are read by those same crystals and translated into an image. Your body is about 60–70% water. Water is an incredible conductor of vibration.

Crystals are not magical objects and yet they are. They never seem to move and yet they don’t just sit still. Instead they maintain incredibly consistent patterns of vibration. When I talk about vibration, I don’t mean random movement,

I mean a steady repeating pattern, a rhythm that is measurable and consistent. No hocus pocus.

Crystals control how light behaves. You’ve held a prism in sunlight and watched it break into a rainbow. The crystal didn’t create the color—it revealed what was already there. Crystals bend light to make fiber optics possible. They fluoresce, reflect, scatter, and transmit. They make lighters spark. They keep time in watches. They allow ultrasounds, MRIs, microphones, GPS, and cameras to function. Diamond-tipped tools cut through steel. Ruby crystals power lasers. Sapphire lenses protect cameras. Even quantum computing is exploring crystals like diamonds. Without silica, there would be no semiconductors. No phones. No internet. No AI.

Crystals are also in cosmetics, supplements, and everyday products. Salt is a crystal—and without it, we would not survive. Our bodies literally run on charged minerals called electrolytes. These minerals control our heartbeat, our brain signals, our hydration, our movement. Outside the body, they form crystals and metals. Inside the body, they dissolve and carry charge. Mica in our eyeshadow, copper in our blood. Same elements. Different forms. Different functions.

So how can you harness this high frequency intelligence into your daily life ?

When we use crystals in healing, we’re not asking them to ‘fix’ us.

We’re interacting with a system that already understands how to hold coherence. Crystals aren’t special because they’re rare, they’re special because they’re fundamental.

HOW TO USES YOUR CRYSTALS FOR NEWBIES

Anyone can use crystals or stones or metals for nervous system regulation by using them as an anchor point for your attention. This could be a worry stone that you thumb in your pocket or a visual reminder of your daily intention. When you assign meaning to something you brain starts to organize around it. An obsidian bracelet on your wrist or a citrine in your wallet. It's not the stone, it's your intention. What are you programming into your subconscious? When you know that rose quartz, represents love, and you purposely collect it to bring more love into your life you are creating a physical representation of your intention. Your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference, and begins to act accordingly by bringing more loving frequency into your field. If you decide that you were going to use a crystal to help you quit smoking, who is to say that the placebo effect was fake when you actually put down the cigarettes. Your brain is creating bio chemical change based on your belief alone and the crystal is just a reminder of how you are programming yourself to think or feel or live. You are an electric being. Your heart has a measurable field. Your brain runs on electrical impulses. So when you work with crystals, you're not working with some foreign object, you were interacting with an electrical system that already exists within you.

I actually have a whole lot lot lot more to say about crystals and stones, so you can consider this an ongoing topic in my (now?) crystal series. Hit me with your questions. In future installments I will go in on the metaphysics and legends behind our favorite gems and stones. History is thick with the lore and magic of these incredible materials. We also have to talk about the qualities of their different shapes, the meaning of the colors, their numerologies and healing uses. The different families of crystals, the platonic solids, their sacred geometries and so much more.

For your meditation

home work....Oh you thought it was over?

Take your favorite crystal or a rock from your yard. Any of your choosing, it does not have to be fancy. Sit with it, hold it, look at it, and for a few minute focus intently on memorizing its every detail and quality. Color, texture, weight, size, taste, whatever. All of it. Then put it away and go to your seat to sit with eyes closed for your practice. Begin to imagine the crystal in your mind. Bring the image up.The color. The weight of it in your hand, the size, the feeling, the temperature. Then, visualize placing the crystal down and it growing huge in front of you. Big enough to walk up to it and touch it, and look inside of it. Run your hands down the side of it. Put your cheeck up against it. Peer into it closely. Knock on the side of it and step inside. Step inside of the crystal. Perhaps you ask your higher self if there is any insight or wisdom you may be able to learn or know or if you could vibrate along with the crystal's natural frequency. Take in all the sensations , sights, sounds, smells, feelings and emotions. When you feel you are finished you simply step out of the crystal and take a deep inhale into your seat and into your body. Feel the pillow or chair underneath you and take in the sounds of your room or home or yard. Come back when it's time and don't forget your journal. Enjoy.

Love,

Aja
